Only got less time than this tonight? Pick 45 and run the plan in order — just cut the games time short when you have to go. It's okay to stop early.

Focus areas

Pick one or two — tonight's plan leans into these.

What do these mean?
  • Spacing: Spreading out on the floor so there's room to pass, drive, and see the whole court.
  • Decision-making: Reading what the defense gives you and choosing pass, dribble, or shoot in the moment.
  • Finishing: Scoring at the basket through contact and traffic, not just open layups.
  • Ball-handling: Controlling the ball with either hand under pressure — dribbling, protecting it, changing speed.
  • Defense: Guarding the ball and helping teammates guard theirs, without fouling.
  • Passing: Delivering the ball accurately to a teammate at the right time.
  • Shooting: Shooting form and touch, from close range out to game-realistic distance.
  • Transition: Moving the ball and the team quickly from defense to offense (and back).
  • Teamwork: Communicating, sharing the ball, and playing for each other, not just as individuals.

Court space

The planner needs at least one hoop and at least a half court (roughly baseline to the half-court line, one hoop) to build a full practice.

Sharing a gym tonight? Borrow a hoop from the next court, or split the squad across two half-court sessions back to back.
